When Sharpe hears of Napoleon's return from exile he goes back to the Army. Placed on staff of the incompetent Prince of Orange he reunites with the Chosen Men and organises the defences for the Battle of Waterloo.
After returning from the war Sharpe is accused of stealing Napoleon's treasture, after being set up by his long-time enemy Ducos. He's abandoned by his wife, convicted of the crime, and sent to jail. He escapes to seek justice.
