This work examines sculpture, the most ancient and basic art form of all, both in Western and non-Western settings. The author also reveals the techniques and revolutionary styles that make modern sculpture one of the most sophisticated art forms today. He examines models, sketches, and writings that show how individual pieces were achieved.
