Description
In a pickup-camper, Grandfather, a shaman, and his granddaughter, Hollow-Woman, the last descendants of the Pecos people, embark on a trip from New Mexico to Boston to retrieve the sacred bones of their ancestors. These remains had been stolen in 1915 from their ancestral home, the Pecos pueblo archaeological site, by academics intent on medical research. In his mind the old man has heard the bones crying, longing for home. So in order to convince the skeptical Hollow-Woman to love the bones as he does, he fashions a magical dream catcher to enable her to witness the past triumphs and suffering of her people.
