General Note
The White Oak Dance Project, a collaborative effort of Mikhail Baryshnikov and choreographer Mark Morris, brought together a small company of dancers in the summer of 1990 to create and learn a new repertory on the White Oak Plantation, a wildlife preserve in northern Florida. The facilities were provided by Howard Gilman, a longtime patron of the arts with a particular interest in dance.
