Covers historical events such as the Bay of Pigs invasion, the violent racial turmoil, the escalation of America's involvement in Vietnam and the Cuban Missle Crisis. Explores the private life of Kennedy, the tragic death of his infant son and his chronic womanizing. He was scrutinized by the FBI under the leadership of J. Edgar Hoover.

Follows President John F. Kennedy from his election to office through his death on Nov. 22, 1963.
