This book collects Blacksad 4: L'enfer, le silence; Blacksad: L'histoire des aquarelles, Tome 2; and the Blacksad short stories "Cracher au ciel" and "Comme chien et chat," originally published in France.

Blacksad is a comic album series created by Spanish authors Juan Díaz Canales (writer) and Juanjo Guarnido (artist), and published by French publisher Dargaud. Though both authors are Spanish, their main target audience for Blacksad is the French market and thus they publish all Blacksad volumes in French first; the Spanish edition usually follows about one month later.

Now, A Silent Hell hits American shores fresh from its triumphant release in Europe, where it debuted as a best-selling book in France. This edition also includes two never-before-collected Blacksad shorts as well as the complete translation of The Watercolor Story, an extensive art book originally published in France and Spain, filled with preliminary watercolor sketches, with text by illustrator Juanjo Guarnido detailing his meticulous production of the story in this volume.
